Waist Training 101

Everyone is talking about waist training these days. If you haven't heard about it from your friends, you’ve probably seen a whole bunch of celebrities wearing waist trainers on Instagram or talking about them on various YouTube channels. The Kardashians, Jenners and even Jessica Alba are huge supporters of this new movement. If you're looking to learn a bit more about waist training, you came to the right place. Here's waist training 101 - everything you need to know about training that waist! :)

What is Waist Training?

Well, are you curious what waist training is? It’s pretty simple actually… waist training is simply a special garment, similar to a corset, that’s used to train your waist to be smaller than it actually is. It works by gradually applying pressure to the area above your waist. As time goes on, the waist trainer can be set to a tighter setting to further train your body to have a smaller waist.

Which Celebrities Waist Train?

It seems like half of Hollywood is using a waist trainer right now. If you’re not keeping up to date on Instagram or TMZ, the following celebs have been seen using a waist trainer:

  • Kim Kardashian
  • Jessica Alba
  • Khloe Kardashian
  • Lily James
  • Kourtney Kardashian
  • JWoww
  • Snooki
  • Kim Zociak

What are the Benefits of Waist Training?

There are plenty of benefits of waist training. Although the trend seems relatively new, in fact, people have been training their waist for thousands of years. Corsets have been in vogue on and off for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Women have used them as a way to reduce the size of their waist and give them that hourglass figure everybody wants.

Modern waist training is designed to help you:

  • Take inches immediately off your waist. While wearing one, you'll lose up to 3 inches off your stomach area, which not only gives you a smaller waist, but makes your butt look bigger.
  • Reduce back fat. When you're wearing your trainer, your back fat is tightened so it's not nearly as noticeable.
  • Increase thermal activity to stimulate sweating. Many girls wear their trainer while working out and the heat of the trainer helps you sweat more.
Have you tried a waist trainer yet? If not, here are 6 reasons to try waist training!
