6 Reasons to Try Waist Training

By: Kayla Harwick

You already know what waist training is and how popular it is with Hollywood celebrities (think Khloe Kardashian, Amber Rose, Jessica Alba, etc.).

With so much variation in the information available about all of the latest trends, it can be difficult to decide whether or not the next big thing is a sham or actually worth trying.

So let’s get to the real question... why should you try waist training?

Here are 6 easy reasons it's time for you to try a waist trainer

1. What do you Have to Lose?

Besides inches off your waistline? A waist trainer can simply be an extension of your outfit of the day. It isn’t an unregulated drug or supplement that you put into your body hoping to see results while wondering what’s going on inside of you. When you put on a waist trainer, you can instantly see it begin to shape your body.

2. It’s Got Your Back

Do you remember as you were growing up your mother would always tell you to stop slouching? That’s because having good posture benefits your body in more ways than one. It keeps your core tight (and let’s be honest, your tummy always looks flatter when you sit or stand up straight instead of slouching), keeps back pain at bay, and prevents your spine from forming into a “hunchback” later on in life.

According to Livestrong, wearing a waist trainer can help support good posture, in turn supporting your core and preventing problems later on in life. If worn while exercising, it will also promote proper posture during your workout which can help prevent strains and injury from improper form. In fact, you've probably seen people at the gym (often super strong men) wearing tight belts while weight lifting - men have been doing this for years to help their posture while lifting heavy weight.

3. It’s HOT!

No really, it is! If worn while exercising, it promotes extra thermogenic activity, boosting your body heat and helping you burn more than you would wearing just your regular athletic wear.

4. It Keeps You Motivated

As mentioned earlier, you’ll see the affect that the trainer has on your waist as soon as you put it on. Seeing results will help keep you motivated to continue living the healthy lifestyle that you’re using the waist trainer to supplement.

When you’re working hard at something but don’t see results as quickly as you’d like to, it can be discouraging. With a waist trainer, you’ll see differences in not only the way your abdomen looks with AND without the waist trainer on, but you’ll notice differences in the way you exercise as well as how the exercise (boosted with the waist trainer) is transforming your body.

5. Your Confidence Will Skyrocket

Waist trainers don’t just keep your tummy tight and your back straight, it can help your clothes fit your body the way you want them too. It can be worn under your clothes, whether it be under your athletic wear at the gym or under your LBD for a night out on the town, the waist trainer will help you achieve a smooth streamlined look that will have you feeling like a million bucks!

6. It’s Easy and Inexpensive

Supplementing your healthy lifestyle with a waist trainer is much simpler than boosting it with a myriad of pills and drink mixes. Instead of making sure that you take your daily supplements at the right time and drink your shake within a certain amount of time of your workout, all you have to do is remember to put on your waist trainer in the morning as you get dressed to leave and go about your day, or put it on as your putting on your pj’s to enjoy the night in.

Instead of taking our word, and the words of many happy waist training ladies, try a waist trainer for yourself and see what it can do for you.

I learned that a waist trainer has more benefits than I realized. It would help my posture and I like the concept of it providing an extra thermogenic effect during workouts.
