It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian-West has sexy curves. If you’ve ever wondered how she’s able to get and maintain her figure, look no further.
Below are ways to whittle your waist and grow your derriere to enhance the appearance of that enviable hourglass shape.
Kim has been very vocal about her love for using waist trainers to help maintain her small waist and accentuate her curvy figure. While waist trainers do some amazing things for your body, make sure that you’re helping the waist trainer help you by eating healthy meals and exercising regularly because a waist trainer alone won’t help you lose weight (if that’s your goal) or become physically healthier. It’s a common misconception that as long as you work out enough, you can eat whatever you want, whenever you want, in whatever proportions you want. This couldn’t be more false. You can never out exercise a poor diet, and you cannot expect to get the full results you want unless you’re supplementing your exercise regime with healthy eating habits. Stick with lean proteins like skinless turkey and chicken breasts, lean beef, and fish that are packed with healthy Omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon. Pack at least half of your plate with a variety of different colored veggies, and make sure you’re squeezing in some fruits as well. Here is a list of things you should be incorporating into your daily meals.
Our bodies are composed mostly of water, so it’s no shocker that we need to drink a lot of water (between one and four liters depending on your health and stage of life) each day to keep our bodies running smoothly. Water also plays a big role in losing or maintaining your weight as well as helping you see results from your workouts. It can naturally suppress your appetite and it helps your body metabolize the fat that it has stored.
One thing you may be thinking though is that drinking more water will make you retain water and look bloated, but actually, the opposite is true. When your body gets dehydrated, BodyBuilding explains that it retains every bit of water that in can in extracellular spaces because your body perceives dehydration as a threat. This extracellular water storage can result in bloating as well as swelling in the hands, feet, and legs. I know it can get boring drinking just plain water all day, so I suggest changing things up. Infuse your water with fruit or mint leaves, make green tea, or try a teatox to help rid your body of toxins! Skinny Teatox has a great variety of flavored energy and detox teas.
Whittle That Waist
Like mentioned earlier, you need to help the waist trainer help you. In order to do this, you’ll want to do cardio to burn any fat that you may be worried about, and you’ll want to perform exercises that target your obliques and your abdominal muscles. Try bicycle crunches, laying toe touches, Russian/Mason twists, weighted back extensions, V-ups, and side planks. Check out more on lower abdominal exercises here.
Work Your Butt Off
Well, really work your butt on if you think about it. You need to work on exercises that build your booty to help emphasize your smaller waist. Exercises that work your glutes, quads, and hamstrings are great for this. You should be doing weighted squats, weighted walking lunges, deadlifts, vertical leg presses, hip thrusts/bridges, and hip abductions to work these muscle groups. If you put in the hard work, you’ll be able to get your body into the shape you want it to be in.
