If you’re not sure what type of foods to increase, or even add, to your diet, here’s a quick list: eggs, almonds, chicken breast, oats, fish, shrimp, and my personal favorite, peanut butter.
Early To Rise, Early To Sleep
Waking up early will allow you to have fewer excuses to skip out on a workout. You not only will get a bit more focused for the day, but you’ll also feel proud of yourself for have gotten up and done it! Along with rising early, going to sleep earlier can also have an influence on your stress level, and help you burn fat.
If you find yourself getting sluggish midday, the easiest solution is to get up! A study at Missouri University discovered that inactivity for 4+ hours could lead to an enzyme shutdown that controls your fat and metabolism. Consider doing a 20-minute walk during your lunch break, or whenever you have free time around the work place. It’ll not only help with the enzyme active levels, but will help boost your energy for the rest of the day.
Not only is this delicious drink calorie free, but also drinking 6 cups of water can help raise your metabolism! Having a nice cold glass of water during that 20-minute lunch break might be the best combination ever!
Coffee or Tea
Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant, which means it helps boost our metabolism by at least 5% on a daily basis. Along with that, having a cup of caffeinated tea can boost your metabolism by roughly 12%! Not only will you be helping your body burn fat, but you’ll be getting a dose of energy to help you through the day.
When we begin to burn fat, our body can also begin to build muscle. Weighing yourself, and expecting to see a smaller number can become very toxic, especially if you’re gaining muscle. So, to avoid that, try taking your measurements and keep checking in once every two weeks to see your progress.
Consuming the good kind of fats is another great way to lose the bad kind, and to gain muscle! It’s also recommended to consume healthy fats when you’ve just had a workout as a recovery.
