Want perfect skin? Well having fun in the sun is great, it really is, but being out in the hot sunny weather can take its toll on your skin. Give your skin a little love with an at home facial!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A gentle face cleanser
- A gentle facial exfoliator
- A clay mask
- A hydrating mask
First you’ll want to start off by gently cleansing your face with warm water and your favorite gentle face cleanser. After rinsing off the cleanser, gently massage your exfoliating face scrub into your skin with small circular motions.
Take your washcloth and run it under water as warm as you’re comfortable with. Drape the washcloth over your face (with the scrub still on your skin), and let it sit for a few minutes. After a few minutes have passed, use the washcloth to gently remove the scrub.
To cleanse and remove impurities, apply the clay mask to your skin in a generous, even layer. Let it sit for about ten minutes, but not to the point where it gets dried up and crumbly. To remove the mask, repeat the warm washcloth technique from above. Try our favorite joeSCRUB.
Your hydrating mask will be able to penetrate deeper now that the clay mask has removed the impurities from your pores and opened them up. Slather on your hydrating mask and let it sit for the directed amount of time before rinsing off.
Grab your favorite moisturizer and massage it into your skin using upward strokes. Take your time massaging it in, this will help increase blood flow and improve circulation while still hydrating your thirsty skin.
For an even more authentic spa feel? Play some nature sounds in the background (like the sound of the ocean waves crashing against the shore), and make yourself a nice glass of cool cucumber or fruit infused detox water.
